Storyline Online is an award-winning children’s literacy program developed by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. The organization came to Ripe to update the website as well as create a hybrid app for both iOS and Android.
This program is utilized in classrooms and homes across the world. And Ripe was very pleased to partner with SAG-AFTRA to develop an easy-to-update framework that allows the program to expand its offerings as well as its outreach in the coming years. Storyline is a media-rich, wonderfully produced program that thoughtfully brings stories to life, while sparking a child’s personal love of reading.
LAUNCH
A Hybrid App for the Widest Exposure
Ripe developed a hybrid app for SAG-AFTRA. Because hybrid apps are universal, only one set of files was needed for all platforms. The apps are programmed using familiar, cross-functional languages (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript), which makes a write once, run everywhere model very attractive for this product.
The end result is more views, traffic and visibility which enables the organization to generate more content, create more partnerships, acquire donations and expand their reach.

An Award-Winning App
The Storyline App we co-created with the SAG-AFTRA Foundation won “Best Educational Mobile Application” in the 2017 MobileWebAward Competition. The award is based on creativity, ease of use, design, content, interactivity and use of the medium. Such award-winning ripeness!
